About Megan

Megan

I am thrilled to be a homeschooling mom of two young boys. If you would have asked me if I could be a full-time mom before our boys were born, I would have told you, “I think I would lose my mind.” And yet, after our first son was born, I knew that I would be disobeying God if I pursued a career outside of the home.

Even before we had kids of our own, Keith and I knew that we eventually wanted to adopt. So, shortly after I made the transition to the role of full-time mom, I began considering ways in which I could help out with the financial side of an adoption. So I started to put together a few products along with an attractive website geared towards Christian consumers.  In spite of having good products at reasonable prices, I struggled to generate internet traffic.   There were endless advertising options, but which ones would pay off, and which ones would just drain our bank account?  How could I focus on creating good products when I was spending all of my time and energy on marketing?  Increasingly I felt drawn to start a site which would make it possible for a variety of Christian stores to regularly stay in front of Christian consumers who desire to support businesses which hold to conservative Christian values.

This site allows me the opportunity to promote Christian businesses and ministries which are seeking to do something more than just generate an income.  I am excited about the continual opportunity to be challenged and inspired by a variety of small business owners who are using their gifts for the glory of God.

Sincerely,
Megan

P.S.  We recently finished up the homestudy portion of our China adoption!  I am so excited!

My Testimony

I have always attended church and have always considered myself a Christian.  I even married my husband knowing that he intended to go to college and eventually become a pastor.  Yet, there was something that I felt was missing in my faith.  I could not put my finger on it, but at some level I recognized that my view of God was not what it should be.

Around the age of 21, people and circumstances in my life led me to question my views concerning who God is and who I was. It was at this point that I read The Holiness of God, by R.C. Sproul.  This book, along with other works by Ligonier Ministries and Dr. Sproul helped me to see God as a holy, all knowing, all powerful God.  I began to see how God has worked through all things and all time to accomplish His perfect will.

As I grew to know God and understand His character, I began to grasp onto that which I had previously been missing and longed to find.  I realized that I had viewed God as rather weak. I had come to believe that out of loneliness God had created this world and man, in hopes that man would love Him.  Honestly, how much more pitiful can a god get?  At some level I think I actually felt sorry for God.  In fact, I think that I actually believed God somehow owed me His love and forgiveness.

I praise God that I no longer see Him in such a distorted light.  Over the years I had failed to recognize God for who He truly is.  In my mind I had created a god of my own making.  I also managed to completely misunderstand God’s grace.  I did not recognize that God’s grace is something He freely gives, something I could never, ever earn. Prior to understanding who God truly is, it was my intention to be a “good person” and earn my way into heaven.  I now know that I can never be good enough on my own.  Christ had to live the perfect life and die as the perfect, unblemished lamb in order for me to enter into heaven.  “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him, we might become the righteousness of God.”  II Corinthians 5:21.  God’s wrath was poured out on Christ for every dirty, despicable, selfish thing I have ever done and will do.  That is why I am saved from the wrath of God: because Christ took the wrath that I deserve.

But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” II Corinthians 12:9-10
