Statement of Faith
We believe:
-
There is one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; John 1: 1-2, 32-24)
- God is omniscient , omnipotent, and omnipresent. (Hebrews 4:13; Revelation 19:6)
-
Christ, who was fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and fulfilled Old Testament prophecy. (John 1:1-5, 14; Luke 1:26-38: II Cor. 5:21; Hebrews 4:15)
- Jesus Christ bore our sins on His body on the cross. In Christ’s once-for-all substitutionary and meritorious death on the cross, God’s wrath towards the sins of those who repent and believe in Christ was appeased. (II Cor 5:18-19; Hebrews 10:10, 17-18)
-
Jesus Christ was resurrected bodily, ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and will return to judge the world. (John 20; Acts 1:11, 2:33)
-
Man is born in sin, and apart from God is eternally lost. (Psalm 51:5)
-
Man is saved by grace alone through faith in Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
-
Upon receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, one receives the Holy Spirit who is responsible for regeneration and the continuing work of sanctification in the believer’s life, thus producing fruit in the believer’s life. (II Cor. 5:5, 17; Galatians 5:22-26)
-
The Holy Bible is the only inspired and inerrant Word of God and serves as the Christian’s final authority. (Romans 1:16-17, I Thes. 1:13, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
-
There is a literal heaven, which is the destination of those who believe in Christ’s meritorious death and repent of their sins. There is also a literal hell, which is the destination of those who do not repent. (Matthew 25:31-46)
