Award Winning Documentary 180

Living Waters, with Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron, has put together a new movie entitled 180.  John Piper, Randy Alcorn, and Joni Eareckson Tadi are just a few of the people who are endorsing the movie.  But the movie isn’t just for the church, it is designed to open the eyes of those outside of the church.  The only way such a movie will have an impact is if the church gets on board and uses its resources to help share the powerful message with those who have not experienced the power of Jesus Christ in their lives.  To find out how you can get involved, visit http://180movie.com

Big Discounts From Crown

Crown Financial Resources has put together some great videos entitled “God Provides.”  Regularly priced at $125, the set of six short films is currently priced at $49.95, a savings of $75.  This would be a great series to use in a Sunday School class, or as materials to watch and discuss as a family.  Along with the movies come companion guides which will aid you in discussion.

Learn to Make, Market, and Distribute Films

Advent Film Group is currently offering their film-making 4DVD set at $50 off the regular price for the first 100 sets sold.  (The set regularly retails for $199.) Here is AFG’s description of the set:

This film workshop was videotaped earlier this year at Patrick Henry College and covers the same course material as the two-day live event. The 4-DVD set provides some of the very best training for those who are interested in learning how to make, market, and distribute full-length feature films.

In total, the set provides 17 hours of instruction, along with a bonus DVD which includes special film-making tools.  If someone in your family is serious about having an impact on the media, this would be a great (and affordable) way to start!

Paws and Tales Review

Paws and Tales is a radio drama series from Insight for Living which has become a favorite in our household.  The series is geared towards kids ages 6-10.  As indicated by the title, the characters of the stories are animals.  Paw Paw Chuck, Staci, and C.J. are all bears.   Marsha the moose, Ned the beaver, and Gooz the weasel complete the line up of well-developed main characters.

I have been very pleased with the series.  While some other audio dramas for kids have characters which I find to be somewhat annoying, the voices used in Paws and Tales make listening very enjoyable.  [Read more...]
