Starting and Maintaining

Just Starting Out?

You just might have a great business idea on your hands.   One question you must first ask yourself is, “Did God design me to do this business long term?” So, before you move ahead full force, why not make sure that your personality and gifts fit with your business concept?

Crystal from MoneySavingMom.com has created a wonderful set of articles entitled Becoming a Work-at-Home Mom.  These articles can be of great value to anyone who is working towards a small business.   I also highly recommend The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment by Tim Challies.  Although this may seem like a strange place to start out, we have found it very valuable as we strive to determine God’s will for our lives.

As you begin to develop a business, check out the articles and resources available through Crown Financial Resources.  Big Entrepreneurs Start Small is a great article to get you started.

But above all else, pray and get into God’s Word.  God wants to lead you in the right direction.  So pray, trust God, learn what He has to say in His Word. (And pray some more.)

Developing and Growing a Business

Whether you are just starting out or you have had your business going for some time, be sure to take the time (even if it seems totally unnecessary) to put together a business plan.   A good business plan will will help you to set specific goals and will help you keep on track regarding that which is most important to you.  (See Crown’s Sample Business Plan.)
