Paws and Tales Review

Paws and Tales is a radio drama series from Insight for Living which has become a favorite in our household.  The series is geared towards kids ages 6-10.  As indicated by the title, the characters of the stories are animals.  Paw Paw Chuck, Staci, and C.J. are all bears.   Marsha the moose, Ned the beaver, and Gooz the weasel complete the line up of well-developed main characters.

I have been very pleased with the series.  While some other audio dramas for kids have characters which I find to be somewhat annoying, the voices used in Paws and Tales make listening very enjoyable.  The story format provides a memorable and fun way for tackling some tough concepts. Each episode deals with a foundational Biblical principle which helps my children to recognize that God’s Word truly does apply to daily life.   Our boys, ages 6 and 7, play and replay their Paws and Tales cds.  We rotate several of the cds in our car. And since each story is about 15 minutes long, they are great for bedtime listening, too.

Insight for Living has set aside a special section of their website just for Paws and Tales.  If you would like to listen to a few episodes before purchasing a cd or cd set, this is the place to start.  Here you can find a radio station which features Paws and Tales programs or subscribe to the free weekly podcast.  Parents can also find teaching tools related to the Paws and Tales episodes in this section of the website.

February 2011, Tydale will be releasing Paws & Tales: The Animated Series!
